BIO

Ben King is an artist and educator based in the Hudson Valley. He holds an MFA from the University of Chicago and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. King has taught at both secondary and postsecondary levels, notably at Edgemont Junior-Senior High School and Hunter College.

His work has been exhibited at venues including Freight & Volume, SPRING/BREAK Art Show, Mark Borghi, White Columns, and Laroche/Joncas, among others. His art has been featured in publications such as ARTnews, Modern Painters, Mousse, The Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, and BOMB. In 2021, literary critic Terry Castle wrote in praise of his work.

King is a fellow of the Edward F. Albee Foundation, and his curatorial work was recognized in Alternative Histories, a 2010 MIT Press publication.
